Solo Euphonium
Cary Brock: Band Master
Cary is a local lad who now proudly occupies our Solo Euphonium chair. Cary has always played for
HSB and believes he always will. Cary works in his own vehicle body shop and drives a Subaru - Estate,
which (our opinion) can only mean that he is planning a family - and to support our theory. Cary is now
engaged to be married to the Band's new Welfare Officer, Tina. Cary also has been given the title of best
chest in the band by the ladies!
2nd Euphonium
Solo Baritone
Guy Cologne-Brookes:
Guy is a student at Shebbear College and joined HSB Training Band in January 06 on Baritone. In July 06
he moved onto Euphonium and progressed into the Senior Band. Guy enjoys playing Rugby for Bideford
Rugby Club and is also a member of the Army Cadet Force.
Jim Reynolds: Press Secretary
Jim is the bands longest serving member, he joined the band in 1953. Having played most instruments he
still calls the Tenor Horn his favourite. His love of music is obvious and he says he has no wish to play with
any other band. Jim enjoys holidays abroad and most sports, he played both Football and Cricket to a good
standard. As the longest serving player Jim is so pleased to see the band rise from playing on the Village
green to playing on the Contesting stage. He hopes the Training Band will be yet another success. Jim
previously served on the Committee for many years and is now the Press Secretary.
2nd Baritone
Rebecca Rumford:
Becka joined HSB in 1980, she has played Tenor Horn, Euphonium, Bass Trombone and is now settled
on 2nd Baritone. Becka loves going to rock concerts, she is a Housewife and is currently doing a degree
in History. For a good number of years Becka was the Band Secretary and she was also a member of
the committee.
