Martha Fawcett

Martha describes herself as a full time slave at Okehampton College and part time adolescent layabout.
Hatherleigh folk will be more used to seeing Martha singing Classical pieces - and what a wonderful singer she is.

She started to play the Trombone in 2006 in the Training Band and has proved to be a very capable player since
coming into the Senior Band . Martha plays in the College Big Band along with other young members of HSB
and plays other instruments too. Her hobbies include Riding, Music and annoying mum.
Robert Barkwell: Chairman

Robert is a local lad. He rejoined the band in 2004 after a long break and moves deftly between Bb Bass
and Bass Trombone. Robert has his own plumbing business in Okehampton. In his few minutes of spare
time, Robert is a great Rugby supporter and works hard locally in this respect.

Tom is our solo trombone player and Hatherleigh folk will have got used to seeing Tom performing 'acrobatics' in the square since he was just 11 years old. Tom is lucky enough to be able to boast a personal chauffeur who dilligently brings him to band in his shiny mercedes motor car. Tom is a great employer though and provides his chaffeur (who is also our assistant principal cornet player - Mike) with board and lodge. Thomas is a very keen sportsman and regularly plays football and cricket plus is a keen supporter of Exeter City.
Andrew Folland

Andy played in Hatherleigh band for many years and is now part of a growing group of players who are
experiencing a second life with the band. Andy is our Solo Trombone and comes in all the way from Shebbear
where he lives with his wife. Andy covers the whole West Country with his farm business. He is very active with
the Training Band trying to keep order in our very lively Training Band Trombone Section.
