MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Ed Joined the army as a trombone player at the age of 16, retiring 40 years later. Following an 8 year spell teaching in Dubai, Ed retired a second time to be near his family in Devon. Planning on total and absolute retirement he was eventually ‘press-ganged’ into joining Hatherleigh Silver Band in November 2021, his first engagement being Hatherleigh Carnival weekend – a real baptism of fire, he hasn’t regretted a single moment. Ed also ran the Hatherleigh Silver Training Band, and the very successful summer Brassed Up holiday club. Ed has now taken on the role of our Musical Director. We look forward in seeing where he takes the band!
